MicroStrategy, meanwhile, revealed more BTC purchases and two big banks scramble up aboard the bandwagon. At Citi, analysts made a splashy if hedged forecast, that BTC was at a \u201ctipping point\u201d in terms of possibly being on the verge of global mainstream adoption; and Goldman Sachs declared its return to crypto trading (Decrypt).<br>BTC rose 3.2% over 24 hours as of 6 a.m. (EST) on Tuesday. Most of them, anyway: some 96% of the circulating ETH supply is now in a state of profit (Nairametrics).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ethereum might seem haggard of late, but all in all it has risen 15% over the past 30 days, to about $1,570 as of 8 a.m. (EST) Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One year ago today, ETH was about $230. It would go as low nearly $100 during the initial \u2018this just got real\u2019 phase of the pandemic. After a fleeting encounter with $2K \u2013 the all-time ETH high, per CoinGecko, was $2,042.93 on Feb. 20 \u2013 the second largest crypto sprinted toward the drain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this morning, ETH seemed like it wanted to get into a track meet with BTC. However, longer term, ETH could compete in a more compartmentalized fashion, set apart as a much more BTC-indifferent animal, grazing on smart contract facilitation, oblivious to the wild antics of big brother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Nanyang Technological University researchers, Ayana T. Aspembitova, Ling Feng and Lock Yue Chew, cited by\u00a0InvestorPlace, ETH\u2019s enthusiasts, compared to BTC\u2019s, are, apparently \u2013 alas, quantifiably \u2013 a more stable bunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hinting at instability are derivatives exchanges sending bearish ETH signals i.e. there&#8217;s a shortage of buyers (AMB Crypto).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, ETH suffered a 10% drop in 24 hours. That&#8217;s a strangely severe spike in volatility.
